Jessica Malinowski
Jessica provides private lessons to children and adults in TaeKwonDo. She also teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense classes for both men and women.
TaeKwonDo is a 2,000-year-old martial art that uses hand and foot techniques for self-defense and counter-attach by the unarmed. TaeKwonDo offers a variety of benefits for people of all ages and physical abilities. Students attain the knowledge and ability to defend themselves while toning their muscles and getting a great cardio workout! For younger students, TaeKwonDo emphasizes exciting activities that encourage basic gross-muscle physical skills such as coordination and balance and also incorporate listening and following directions. TaeKwonDo benefits Cognitive Skills, Fine Motor-Skills, Physical Skills, and Language Development. Jessica emphasizes that TaeKwonDo is especially helpful with children who have an abundance of energy.
Jessica has been training TaeKwonDo for 15 years. For the past nine years, she has been a certified TaeKwonDo instructor for the World TaeKwonDo Federation, and the United States TaeKwonDo Union as a 2nd Dan Black Belt under Grand Master Duk Gun Kwon. For the past eight years, she has taught her skills at three martial arts schools: Harvard Martial Arts, O'Hare International Airport, where she taught pilots, and the Marengo Park District.
Jessica also trains and competes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Pedro Sauer. Jessica has won several major tournaments:
- 2003 Gracie Arnold World Championships Light-Feather Weight Champion
- 2003 Relson Gracie Nationals Light-Feather Weight Champion
- 2004 Gracie Arnold World Championships Light-Feather Weight Champion
- 2004 NAGA Championships Blue to Black Belt Middle Weight Champion
