Mark Pils
Mark Pils’ life long devotion to sports and fitness began to take shape when as a 13 year old he started regular weight lifting workouts. Throughout a stellar high school and college sporting career, the importance of fitness as part of general overall well-being was never lost on Mark. Today his love of sport and fitness is shown as he coaches his two young sons’ various sports teams, imparting in them the desire for a healthy, fit, and fun lifestyle. And, true to his commitment to fitness as an end in itself, Mark is a certified personal trainer sharing his knowledge, expertise, and enthusiasm with a variety of clients.
Mark has helped men and women of all ages, interests and ability levels commit to making health and fitness a priority. Whether a client is interested in shedding pounds, improving their golf swing, lowering their blood pressure, or increasing functional ability after injury, Mark is able to design a carefully thought out, safe and effective plan for each of his clients.
Mark has recently partnered with a network of physical therapy clinics as part of their continuum of care. Mark takes up where formal physical therapy ends, working with clients on increasing strength, flexibility, and functional capacity to enable them to return to active, productive and healthy living.
Mark's passion for health inspired countless friends, relatives, and roommates to make positive changes in their own lifestyles through the years. Mark's own mom has even begun her own weight training program in the last year, thanks to Mark's encouragement.
Mark is an avid golfer, skier, weight-lifter, and cyclist, and coaches both basketball and baseball.
Mark's clients are firm believers in his ability to help them create new attitudes toward health and fitness. Says Linda Mastandrea (Paralympic gold medalist and world record holder), "For years, I was only able to train when I had a goal, like my next Paralympic wheelchair race coming up. Without that motivation, fitness just didn't interest me. Working with Mark has shown me how to look at health and fitness as its own reward, and now that is gold medal enough for me!"
Jesse Rodriguez grew up playing sports, but like many adults, found his career taking precedence over his health. After meeting Mark, Jesse started weight training and has seen his strength and fitness increase exponentially in just a few short months. "Mark is fantastic!" says Jesse. "He is patient, a great teacher, and a true inspiration. I look forward to working out with him every week to see how much more I can accomplish."
